NDC: Alhaj Alhassan Gbangu Supports NDC Youth Wings with 25 New Aloba Motorbikes
Alhaj Uthman Alhassan Gbangu, one of the core Financiers of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress has supported youth wings of the NDC in the Northern and Savannah regions with 25 newly registered Apsonic Aloba 150 Motorbikes.
The bikes donated will support the party’s youth front in the two regions to reach out to many constituents during their electioneering campaigns in order to garner support for the umbrella family.
In a statement issued by Mohammed Tando, Wa Central Constituency Communications Officer of the NDC, he underscored the relevance of the resources donated to the party youth wings stressing that
“it has often been said that the soul of every political party is in its following, put differently, the soul of every political party is in the generosity of its following.
These propositions are trite because political parties apart from their following also require material and logistical resources to remain functional and relevant for the purpose of attaining its objective of annexing political power”.
Tando continues “it’s in line with this hard fact that, the all time party financier and member of the National Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, Alhaji Alhassan Uthman Gbangu (A.KA. the Lion) under the concept ‘energizing the youth organizers at the base’ has taken it upon himself to resource and equip the youth wings of the party across Northern Ghana”.
Tando further noted that the bikes were donated to the former President John Dramani Mahama who handed over the newly registered bikes to the various regional Chairmen of the two regions.
“Matching his words with action,today he has donated twenty five (25) Brand new registered Aloba Motor bikes to H.E John Dramani Mahama for onward distribution to the Regional Chairmen of Savannah and Northern Regions for the youth organizers of their respective constituencies”
On his part, Former Mayor of the Wa Municipal Assembly, Hon. Issahaku Nuhu Putiaha who presented the donation to the former President on behalf of Alhaj Alhassan Gbangu on April 16, 2024 revealed that,the 25 new Aloba Motorbikes were valued at a cost of Two Hundred and Eighty Eight Thousand, Seven Hundred and Fifty Ghana Cedis (Ghc288,750), thus Ghc11,550 each.
Meanwhile, H.E.John Dramani Mahama expressed his gratitude to Alhaji Alhassan Gbangu for his continuos and unwavering financial support to the party.
He urged the youth wings of the NDC to judiciously put the resources into good use and ensure that the bikes serve the intended purpose.
In a related development, the CEO of the Wa based Commercial Radio Station Radio Waa made similar donation of eleven (11) Aloba Motorbikes to all the 11 constituencies in the Upper West Region during the visit of H.E. John Dramani to the Region on his Building Ghana Tour.
