Wa Serial Killing: Wa Naa commits GH¢5,000.00 into Watchdogs Committee Fund
Overlord of the Waala Traditional Area, Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo IV, has established a watchdog fund and commits GHC5000 seed capital into the fund to support the smooth operations of community volunteers who formed committees in the Wa Municipality of the Upper West Region to arrest the dastardly act of killings in the regional capital.
In an engagement with some stakeholders, including opinion leaders and youth in Wa on July 25, 2024, the Overlord called for financial and logistical support to boost the morale and enthusiasm of these committees towards combating these acts of gruesome murders.
The Wa Naa, a few weeks ago outdoored the watchdog committees to provide assistance to the police in providing night security as part of measures towards addressing the barbaric acts of gruesome murders in the Wa Municipality.
Spokesperson of the Overlord of the Waala Traditional Kingdom, Jinpenhi Naa Kadiri Ibrahim, addressing the the gathering, admonished residents to refrain from discussing the committee’s activities publicly in order to prevent acts that are likely to compromise the efforts of the committee in solving the serial killings.
He accentuated the need for discretion, noting that the unknown assailants could be indigenes amongst us, strangers, or a combination of both.
The overlord also advised the public against rumor mongering regarding the arrest of any suspect related to the serial killings, appealing to the community to volunteer information to the police to aid them in their investigations.
Naa Kadir underscored the prudence of logistical and financial support for the watchdog committees while expressing gratitude for any contributions such as fuel, vehicles, flashlights, cash, and other resources to enhance their effectiveness in ensuring security in the community.
