GES DEPUTY DIRECTOR GENERAL APPLUADS LMCs
Ghana Education Service-Lively Minds held its maiden annual meeting at the Radach conference room in Tamale through an in-person participation by all implementing Regional and District Lively Minds Coordinators across Ghana on May 6, 2024.
The meeting was chaired by Alhaji Mohammed Harun [ Cambodia].
In her Welcome address,the Northern Regional Education Director, Hajia Katumi Natogmah Atta indicated that,the platform was critical for achieving shared goals of empowering children in rural arears and strengthening the capacities and motivation of all participants.
Meanwhile,Deputy Director General at the Ghana Education Service in charge of Quality and Access, Dr. Kwabena Bempah Tandoh speaking at the occasion, applauded all participants for their contributions since the commencement of the scale up of the programme in September 2021, which has so far reached out to 52 out of 60 districts targeted under the programme.
He added that the GES- Lively Minds Programme is an example of Governments Prioritization of Early Childhood Development [ECD].
“The programme is key to achieving quality ECD and ensuring that foundational learning opportunities for children from marginalized backgrounds are available to support them reach their full potential”.
Dr. Tandoh further indicated that, the GES – Lively Minds Programme is an intervention that is garnering a lot of traction from the international community and placing Ghana as a trailblazer in this area.
He therefore urged participants to maintain high standard and to deliver the programme with quality.
However, participants are expected to receive scale up training on skills training on public speaking, being analytical and using data to support work planning as well as financial reporting.
