2024 Elections: “It is not the person who makes the sweetest promises that is the best person”- Mahama
The Flagbearer of the largest opposition National Democratic Congress, H.E John Dramani Mahama has mentioned that Ghanaians made the wrong choice of selecting the Nana Addo/Bawumia led NPP in 2016 to rule the country.
He says, Ghanaians were deceived with the lofty promises of the NPP in to believing that the NPP under Nana Addo was the best party to have governed the country well than the NDC.
H.E John Dramani Mahama while gracing a mini rally at Wechiua as part of his 3- day tour of the Upper West Region, opined that, the people of Ghana will not make the wrong choice again by allowing NPP near power in the upcoming December elections.
“In 2016 we made the wrong choice, it is not everything that is shining is gold sometimes it is bronze, sometimes it is brass. I know this time the people of Wa West, the people of Ghana will not make the wrong choice again”.
He urges the people of Wa West and Ghana to vote the NPP out of government as a way of telling the elephant party that, Ghanaians have had the worst form of governance under them for the last 8 years.
“When a government has performed so poorly, you don’t reward it with another electoral success, NPP needs to go back into opposition to reflect and learn their lesson before they come back to contest, that’s why in 2024, the elephant will have to go back to the bush” John Mahama noted.
The former President assured the people of Wa West of his commitment towards the completion of the Dorimo Community Day Senior High School.
He also indicated that, the next NDC government will fix the Wa-Bole-Bamboi-Wenchi-Techiman road after expressing shock over the deplorable state of the road.
“We are going to continue the Wa-Bole-Bamboi-Wenchi-Techiman road, we are going to fix the Wa-Tumu-Naverongo-Bolga road” John Mahama stressed.
Meanwhile, the Member of Parliament for the Wa West Constituency who doubles as the NDC 2024 parliamentary candidate, Hon. Peter Lanchene Toobu promised the NDC Flagbearer of a 40,000 plus votes from the constituency.
He says the Wa West Constituency has not gotten any development under the NPP government describing the Nana Addo Bawumia led NPP government as incompetent, inept and wicked and hence must be voted out of power.
“Your Excellency, we are promising you over 40,000 votes, it was 12,000 I came and moved it to 20,000 and now we are promising you 40,000 plus votes” Lanchene noted.
He says the people of Ghana want John Dramani Mahama to come back and continue his good work stressing that, Ghanaians are ready to cede paower to the NDC come December 7, 2024.
“Everybody wants you to come back, on the 7th of January whether you like it or not you will be sworn into power, come back and complete your work” Lanchene stressed.
Lanchene further noted that, the coming back of H.E John Dramani Mahama and the NDC in to power will see to the connection of many villages to the national grid.
