Election 2024: Alhaj Alhassan Gbangu retools NDC Youth Wings in Northern Belt with 57 Aloba Motorbikes
Alhaj Alhassan Gbangu, one of the stalwarts and financiers of the major opposition National Democratic Congress in his quest to retooling the youth wings of the NDC in the Northern part of Ghana has donated in total 57 Apsonic Aloba -150 motorbikes to all the five regions of the North.
The last batch of the motorbikes donated to make up the 57 were 21 motorbikes gifted the North East and Upper East Regional youth wings of the NDC on May 25, 2024.
In a statement issued by the Wa Central Communications Officer of the NDC, Mohammed Tando on Saturday May 25, 2024, he describes the gesture as one “aimed at enhancing the mobility and effectiveness of the youth organs to enable them reach remote areas and mobilise support for the party in Northern Ghana”.
Presenting the last batch of the motorbikes (21) on behalf of Alhaj Alhassan Gbangu to the NDC flagbearer at Tamale, the former Wa Municipal Assembly’s Mayor, Hon. Issahaku Nuhu Putiaha noted that the 21 new Apsonic Aloba-150 motorbikes cost GH¢263,550.00 pegging the cost of the 57 motobikes to GHS 715, 350.00 in total.
He adds that, the move is embarked upon by the NDC Financier purposely to “retool the various youth wings of the party to make them vibrant and fit for purpose”.
On his part, Former President H.E John Dramani Mahama receiving the donation on behalf of the regional Chairmen at his residence in Tamale, expressed his gratitude to Alhaj Alhassan Gbangu for his immess contribution to the party.
He also acknowledged the similar gestures Alhaj Alhassan Gbangu lent to the party in the Upper West, Savannah and Northern Regions.
The NDC 2024 Flagbearer charged the youth to make judicious use of the resources and reach out to the remote areas and sell the NDC’s message to the people towards victory 2024.
The ceremony was graced by former Chief of Staff Julius Debrah, Dr. Calistus Mahama, Head of Administration at the office of the Former President and a host of other NDC functionaries.
