Election 2024: Wa Central lend me your mandate for 4 years & realize a positive pace of development – Hajia Humu
The Wa Central Parliamentary candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party, Hon. Hajia Humu Awudu has called on constituents of the Wa Central to lend her their mandate for 4 years to realize the needed development in the constituency.
She noted that the Wa Central is lagging behind in terms of development despite ceding power to the NDC for a very long time.
Hajia Humu Awudu whiles interacting with some party faithful of the elephant fraternity in Wa Mangu on November 30, 2024 after a clean-up exercise indicated that, the incumbent Member of Parliament despite sitting on the parliamentary seat for over two decades could not ignite the needed pace of development in the constituency stressing that, lending power to the incumbent MP will amount to another 4 years of no show on the part of Dr. Hassan Rashid Pelpou.
She charged constituents to vote for her stressing that “a vote for Hajia Humu is a vote for development, a vote for Hajia Humu is a vote for the future of the youth, a vote for jobs and a vote for Hajia Humu and Dr. Bawumia is a vote to protect the Free Senior High School policy”.
She alleged that, the Wa Central MP has been playing with the emotions of the constituents stressing that, he always abandoned the constituency after elections and only returns with the trick of begging for forgiveness when elections are drawing nearer, urging electorates to vote him out come December 7 polls.
“The people of Wa Central have been voting for one individual for over 20 years and whenever elections are over, he goes to sit in Accra while waiting for 6 months to elections only for him to resurface in the constituency. Every time he comes to beg for forgiveness and when the people vote for him, he abandons the constituency again knowing very well he will come back and ask for forgiveness again, what kind of a person are you” She quizzes.
The Wa Central NPP parliamentary candidate appealed to the people of Mangu to change Dr. Hassan Rashid Pelpou and vote vote for her to also represent the constituency so that they can be able to make the needed comparison.
“If you are trading only in the Wa market without trading at the Piisi market, you would not be able to draw the difference, it is time for us to trade in two different markets and see which market will be the best market” Hajia Humu added.
The Wa Central Constituency is one of the key constituencies in the Upper West Region where the parliamentary race is going to be tight as the NPP parliamentary candidate, Hon. Hajia Humu Awudu has been giving the incumbent Member of Parliament a run for his money.
The elephant party is poised at turning the Wa Central Constituency blue whiles the umbrella party is targeting the entire region to be turned green come December 7.
However, the trend of voting skirt and blouse seems to be posing a greater challenge on the grass root base of the NDC as groups previously known to be NDC are not backing down on their demand for Dr. Hassan Rashid Pelpou to be retired (voted out) come December 7 despite advocating for the NDC to come to power.
Well, 7 days to elections, the thumbs of the people of Wa Central and the entire country will decide where the country heads in the next 4 years.
