UWR: Election 2024, NPP embarks on a mega walk to rally support from electorates

The ruling New Patriotic Party in the Wa Central Constituency as part of activities to rally support for the NPP Wa Central Constituency Parliamentary Candidate Hon. Hajia Humu Awudu in the upcoming elections, embarked on a mega walk along the principal streets of Wa.

Claded in the christined NPP it is possible paraphernalia, the elephant party painted the township of Wa blue and white as they anticipate to unseat the NDC MP Hon. Dr. Hassan Rashid Pelpou in December 7 polls, as the incumbent MP sat on the seat since 2004.

The NPP Upper West Regional Chariman, Alhaj Aziz popularly known as Chairman white says, the party is fortified with unity and will not allow itself to be divided again by the umbrella family.

He charges the party faithful to vote the NDC out and cede power to the NPP in the Wa Central constituency for the needed development.

Meanwhile, the Upper West Regional Minister Hon. Steven Yakubu also indicated that, the people of the Upper West Region have voted for the NDC for the past 20 years, emphasizing that, it is time for the people of Upper West Region especially the Wa Central Constituents to change for employment, development and empowerment by voting for the NPP and Hon. Hajia Humu Awudu.

He also added that, the NDC parliamentary candidate went to Parliament with the name Hon Rashid Pelpuo but he is now called Hon Doctor Rashid Pelpuo which shows that he uses the constituency seat to develop himself and it was time for him to cede power to another person who can develop the entire constituency but not an individual.

On his part, the Wa Municipal Chief Executive Hon. Alhaj Issahaku Tahiru Moomin indicated his commitment of ensuring the party wins the Wa Central Constituency seat.

He urged members of the party to rally around the party’s candidate and campaign tirelessly towards securing the Wa Central seat.

Hon. Tahiru Moomin again called on members of the NDC to consider a change by voting for Hon. Hajia Humu Awudu and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the needed development to be realized in the Wa Central constituency.

For her part, Hon. Hajia Humu Awudu, the NPP 2024 Parliamentary Candidate for the Wa Central Constituency, appealed to parents not to threaten their wards with curses should they make their mind to vote for her adding that, the youth and women are ready to vote for employment, vote for women empower ment by voting for the NPP.

She stressed that “when the youth are employed they can take care of their parents, when the women are empowered with start up capitals they will be able to raise their children, so I appeal to you to let us vote for development by voting for me and Dr. Bawumia” she says.

She took a swap at Dr. Hassan Rashid over what he has been using his common fund for all this while as he serves as MP accentuating that, if she gets the node she would use her common fund to empower the youth and women.

The NPP Parliamentary Candidate explains that the youth who are without certificate to secure public sector jobs will be trained with the needed skills to engage in craftsmanship while those with certificates would be employed in the various government and security sectors if she gets the mandate as an MP.

However, the Wa Central Constituency Chairman of the NPP, Hon. Alhaj Osman Hamid says, the numbers recorded during the walk indicates the youth and women of the constituency are ready to embrace the change of replacing Dr. Hassan Rashid Pelpuo with Hon. Hajia Humu Awudu.
