The National Democratic Congress (NDC) as part of teaching voters how to vote and to reduce the number of rejected ballots come December 7 polls, embarked on a test voting exercise at the Nyoli market on Wednesday October 23, 2024.
The exercise forms part of activities to curtail the higher numbers of rejected ballots that are usually recorded in previous elections as the NDC in the constituency believes that it will amass 40,000 votes target it sets for itself in the upcoming elections.
This dream the party believes would be realized come December but was quick to identify that the higher numbers of rejected ballots could be an impediment hence the party’s move in teaching constituents how to vote through the test voting exercise that was done at the market.
Salifu Nurideen Saankuong, Communications team Member of the NDC in the Wa West constituency stated that, the party is engaging with local residents to educate them on the voting process and address the issue of spoiled/rejected ballots.
He expressed confidence in how the constituents are responding to their campaign message and therefore highlighted the significance of voter awareness.
Meanwhile, Hon. Claudius Dare Kuuyore, the Assemblyman for Sanouri Electoral Area seized the opportunity and praised the NDC for their youth empowerment initiatives and development projects in the district. Hon. Kuuyore was optimistic about the party’s future prospects.
An NPP party faithful who defected to NDC Gbolo Say John, shared his story of how the NDC and the Member of Parliament for Wa West Hon. Peter Lanchene Toobu paid his ward school fees, emphasizing the party’s commitment to community welfare cannot be underestimated.

He expressed his appreciation to the incumbent MP for the Constituency and 2024 parliamentary candidate of the NDC Hon. Peter Toobu Lanchene for the assistance he offered his ward.
